ICYMI: Raptors Elite/Q6 Showdown (Top Performers)
Simmons & Bradley are leaders for Inspire Prep
Inspire Prep has two very hard workers in 2020 pair Khalyl Simmons and Demoi Bradley. Simmons is a 6’3″ guard who is savvy as an attacker and a true leader. He shoots the ball well and can hit shots in rhythm time and time again. As for Bradley, he’s an elusive driver and a super bouncy defender who thrives as a shot blocker and a core stealer. Simmons and Bradley will be big pieces as seniors once again for Inspire Prep and colleges will be watching. Simmons has an offer from Florida A&M right now.
CFCA adds more talent
The reigning Class 2A state champion Central Florida Christian Eagles graduated 2019 Bethune Cookman signee Jordan Preaster and 2019 duo Bryce Street and Anterrius Washington. CFCA looks different, but the team still has 2022 6’4″ guard Riley Kugel, 2022 6’0″ guard Jamar Houston and 2020 6’3″ guard Jajuan Preaster in place. The youngest Preaster brother Justin Preaster, a 2023 6’0″ guard will be part of the varsity squad. 2020 6’2″ guard Sadeem Blake transferred over earlier in the summer. Now, 2020 6’7″ forward Nickolas Silva came up from Miami Christian and he’s a very special wing/four man who can shoot it. Also, 2022 5’10” guard Nicholas Rodriguez transferred over from Legacy Charter.
Gavin’s decision comes this week
An internet sensation, being part of the so-called “Goggle Gang”, 6’0″ guard Michael Gavin told me he’s figuring out what his next move is. The 2019 Lake Mary Prep grad says he will commit to a college on Monday. Gavin wears glassed during games and surprises everyone who watches with his high flying ability and pure scoring and slashing. He’s a very good pickup for any collegiate program. Gavin played with Raptors Elite and did very well pacing the floor.
Floyd is weighing his options
Spending the last four years at Wharton, 6’3″ guard Jasper Floyd has gotten better every season. I talked to him on Saturday in Orlando and he told me he’s still weighing his options and will come to a decision here soon. He mentioned that VIctory Rock Prep postgrad is in the running for him as he will reclassify to the Class of 2020.
Harvey is headed to Potter’s House Christian
6’2″ guard Deandre Harvey is an impressive outside shooter. He will take his talents to Potter’s House Christian this season as a 2020 prospect after being at DME previously. He told me he’ll most likely play for the varsity squad. That is a nice addition for the Lions to pair Harvey with 2020 guards Mayoum Mayoum and Keano Calderon. Harvey had some really good moments as a shooter in transition in a win over Tony Bradley Elite on Saturday.
