In the 2020 class, we expanded the rankings from 75 to 102. Our goal for the 2020 list is to have a top 150 by the end of the prep season. The 2021 class has been expanded to a top 85, and we expect to have a top 100 in 2021 by December. The goal for the 2022 class is to have a top 75 by December. In addition, we will be creating the 2023 watchlist. Big things are coming from PrepHoops Alabama, and we appreciate the support that prospects, coaches, parents, and fans have given us.
How does PrepHoops evaluate prospects and come up with the rankings? This is the most common question that is brought to our attention. We evaluate prospects through live scouting (attending events/games), video scouting, contacting coaches (AAU and college), and communicating with other scouts. No system is perfect. No system reflects the same evaluations. We take pride in being unbiased and brutally honest with the prospects.
The most important thing for prospects wanting to play at the next level is for them to control what they can control. Prospects can control their attitude, what they say on social media platforms, how they perform in school, and the amount of extra gym time they get. Thousands of prospects across the country are trying to separate themselves for the same opportunities. Control what you can control.
