He’s a big-time track athlete and that took up the spring and the month of July he’s on a family vacation. Jamison did suit up in June with the Wildcats and it’s clear that he’s been working on his skills in preparation for what he hopes is a big senior year.
“I’ve been trying to get my jumper more consistent because I feel like I’m good with my inside game,” Jamison said. “It would make me more effective if I could make my outside game better so I have more weapons that I can use.”
Jamison has long been a great defensive player. In June, he started to show more of a assertive nature on offense and capably played both at the point and on the wing. A big-time track athlete – he ran sprints and also finished third in the state in the long jump – Jamison is hopeful that he can also play hoops at the college level.
“Wherever I can get a scholarship,” Jamison said. “I’m wide open right now.”
Since he’s not playing club ball, the next time we’ll see Jamison will be after school starts. He’s looking forward to his final season of high school basketball and is ready to use his experience to help others. “My regular season goal is to be a leader and try to teach (my teammates) how to play against pressure as I’ve been here for three years already,” Jamison said. “Hopefully we can get back to the playoffs and then further than we have before.”
Jamison currently ranks as the #71 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
