Mark Miller II from Grand Blanc High School and 1Nation should be a household name for fans, college coaches, and scouts. The 6’4″ forward has been a steady force for his team. Miller is nothing short of a star in the class of 2020. Last season for Grand Blanc, he averaged 12ppg, 6rpg, 2spg, and 2apg. Miller led the team in total minutes played, ·+/- ratio (team points scored when on the court – team points allowed when on the court), points in the paint, total rebounds, assist/turnover ratio, and field goal percentage.
Miller has an impressive game to go with all those numbers. He’s excellent when finishing at the basket. Miller can use his frame and play through contact as well as use his body control to finesse his defender. He’s a high IQ player that’s always aware of the time, score, and situation. Miller is a hard working warrior when it comes to the game of basketball. He’s in great physical condition which allows him to log heavy minutes and stay at full strength. Miller is at game speed every second that he’s in the gym. He’s a solid all around athlete that plays multiple sports (football).
Miller knows that improvement and experience will be key in seeing success on the basketball court. He’s currently working to improve his mid range jumper. This will make him a 3 level scorer and an even bigger offensive threat. Miller has become a veteran prep player, as shown by him hitting multiple game winning shots last season.
Mark Miller has set his goals both on and off the court. This summer, he wants to improve his already solid defensive game, field goal percentage, and off hand ball handling. He wants nothing short of a state championship next high school season. After that, Miller wants to embark on a college basketball career. He’s looking to attend medical school and study to become a cardiologist.
Miller has a bright future in the game of basketball. His recruitment is under way and he’s been contacted by schools like Rochester University, Olivet, Saginaw Valley State, and West Point (Army). Miller has a lot to offer a program at the next level. His ability to finish at the rim and his intelligent game will transfer nicely to the next level. On top of that, his intensity and hard working traits ensure continued growth as a player.
“My greatest motivation is my Dad because he always pushes me to my limits so that I can be the best person all around. On top of that he is always by my side whenever I have something going on. Lastly, he gives me somebody to look up to because I want to be successful in life one day like he is.” – Mark Miller
