THE FAVORITES
No. 4 Wisconsin Rap
This group has been giant killers over the last two years. It doesn’t matter what circuit you come from or your record coming in, you better be ready to play because Brandin Podziemski, Gerald Gittens, Shilo Bowles, and Aiden Flynn fear nobody. Wisconsin Rap will open up against the QC Ballers on Friday.
No. 31 Wisconsin Crusaders
Don’t be fooled by the seed, this is a dangerous squad. Keaton Ferris and Riley Murphy are both deadly sharpshooters who can light up the scoreboard. Up front, the Crusaders have size and athleticism with Jacob Newhouse and Ryan Claflin. If they can advance to the second round with a win over Michigan Tranzition, the Crusaders have upset potential against the No. 2 seed South Dakota Attack.
DARKHORSE CONTENDERS
No. 16 Wisconsin United
It’s 32 minutes of organized chaos when you play Wisconsin United. A full court pressure team that doesn’t let up, United has potential to throw anybody off their game. The high-scoring backcourt of Tyrese England and JaVeon Tolliver also gives them one of the better 1-2 punches at the guard spots in the field.
No. 22 Wisconsin Starz Elite
The Starz will get Inspired Athletics in the first round. Unsigned senior Trevon Chislom is one of the most dominant forwards on the Prep Hoops Circuit. The Starz also feature hidden gem Cole Deptula, who averaged roughly 16 points per game during the Adidas Silver Gauntlet and is receiving interest from Division 2 and 3 programs this summer.
No. 24 Team 1848
Team 1848 has been one of the more pleasant surprises on the Prep Hoops Circuit. They aren’t loaded with household names, but play a tough brand of basketball and make their opponents earn everything they get. 1848 will open up against Chicago Lockdown on Friday.
