Sweet 16 of the Summer Challenge 17u was this evening, here is ten of the standouts from the Saturday night playoff round.

One.  Johnny Davis Johnny Davis 6'4" | SG La Crosse Central | 2020 State #97 Nation WI of Wisconsin Playground.  Playing about half of the game we were able to see a sample of just about everything that Davis can do.  Davis showed off the range with a three and a mid-range score, he showed that high octane basket run off the ball for second chances and cut scores, dished out three assists, grabbed six boards, scored 15.

Two.  Jordan Davis Jordan Davis 6'4" | SF La Crosse Central | 2020 State #435 Nation WI of Wisconsin Playground. Best rebounder in the Playground Warriors/All In Williams game collecting ten boards in about 15 minutes of play.  Scored four times but used his power to get into position for double figure dominating boards.

Three.  Tyrese England Tyrese England 6'1" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2020 State WI of Wisconsin United.  The quickness shown in his separation dribble and shift England has from spot to spot gives him room at 15 feet that most people can’t get against a decent defender, much less a strong defender.  Month after month of a dangerous pull-up.

Aiden Flynn Aiden Flynn 6'5" | PF Marquette | 2020 State WI

Four. Aiden Flynn Aiden Flynn 6'5" | PF Marquette | 2020 State WI of Wisconsin RAP scored 18 points with nine rebounds working his way to the rim for nine of nine field goal shooting.  RAP knocked off All Arkansas Red with outstanding team basketball and it was often the 6-foot-5 Flynn of Marquette University High completing the possession.

Five.  Darrius Hannah of All In Gold.  The 6-foot-9 long and agile talent with a thick leg brace was the first player that caught my attention stepping into the gym today.  Had 21 tonight in a win over Young & Restless putting the ball on the deck and defeating defenders.  That quick initial bounce and second bounce look very good.  Face-up ability, length, good size at 6-foot-9, and after missing a full high school year the agility looks there.  Expect Darrius to be a big name recruit all of  July.

Six.  Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 6'5" | SF Batavia | 2020 State #276 Nation IL of Fundamental U.  The 6-foot-6 wing from Batavia simply hits shots.  Wing, elbow, top of the key, foul line, face-up, whatever, Johnson hits shots.  And he will hit shots in college too.  When Rise stretched the lead late of Mercury Elite it was on the strength of late game Jayden clutch triples.

Jayden Johnson Jayden Johnson 6'5" | SF Batavia | 2020 State #276 Nation IL

Seven. Connor Kochera Connor Kochera 6'4" | SF St. Viator | 2020 State #209 Nation IL of Fundamental U.  Love his change of pace into attack, into his lift.  Has made contested jumpers all weekend as a 6-foot-4 wing.  Over a dozen mid-major offers and counting, Connor is one of the more recruited mid-major talents in the Midwest and this weekend he and Johnson have their team looking at another PH Circuit title game appearance.

Eight. Jacob Ognacevic Jacob Ognacevic 6'8" | PF Sheboygan Lutheran | 2020 State #413 Nation WI of Wisconsin Playground Warriors.  The six-foot-8 power forward was at the front of the rim for 30 points and seven rebounds in a win over All In Williams.  Ognacevic made all ten of his foul shots and 10 of his 14 field goals at the front of the rim. Jacob has six D1 offers and was easily the most asked about player via text tonight from college coaches.

Nine.  Brandin Podziemski Brandin Podziemski 6'6" | SG Saint John's Northwestern Academy | 2021 State #232 Nation WI of Wisconsin RAP.  This 2021 shooter continues to be as explosive of a shooter in his class as you may find in the Midwest.  He’s went for a few 30+ games in the spring and today made three triples and played an active role in the RAP win over All Arkansas Red.

Ten.  Isaiah Ramsey Isaiah Ramsey 6'3" | CG Pine Crest | 2022 State FL of Team Speights.   Ramsey is a big 6-foot-4 guard that aggressively attacked and completed but the thing that really caught me was how quickly he can dribble separate into a pretty looking jumper.  Quick into the lift and release.  Love his strength at guard.
