Sean Franklin 2021 Buddy Buckets- Franklin’s impact was made on the offensive glass. He cleans up everyone else’s mistakes. He pulls in rebound after rebound and is able to finish through contact. Franklins athleticism makes it look so easy as he finishes near the rim every time. The ball seems to fall to him every time, and that is not be accident. He’s in on every play and is straight up dominant on the glass.
Jaren Curry 2022 Team Harden- Curry was a young guy I got the chance to see play a couple of times. He has great length and his size is ideal. He uses all of that to his advantage as he really sparked Team Harden with all of his rebounds. He’s so tall and bouncy that he gets rebounds effortlessly. Curry played nice defense too and minimized mistakes. Jaren had an awesome weekend.
Carter Little 2020 RSE Elite- Little is an underrated player who had a great weekend for RSE Elite. His LOWEST rebounding game was NINE boards. He has a real knack for the ball. Against Team Harden he brought in 12 rebounds and every one of them was on someone taller than him. For being a bit undersized, Little uses a strong blockout and brings in rebounds, he plays bigger than he is. He had a great weekend averaging a nice double double with 13.6 PPG and 11 RPG.
Jeremiah Hoskins 2020 Texas Elite- I wasn’t even prepared to watch Hoskins but he immediately caught my eye. At 6’4, he has the size of a post but a smooth jumpsuit of a guard, he knocked down multiple threes. But the more impressive part, while he was one of the best shooters on his team, he grabbed every single rebounder. Even if he shot the ball, he usually ended up with the rebound and finished with a strong post move to the hoop. Hoskins is young and has room to grow and is the definition of a finesse big man.
Paul Otieno 2020 Pacers- Otieno was an awesome surprise this weekend. He was probably the best rebounder of the entire tournament. He is huge and strong as an ox. He even had a smooth jumper as he shot a couple of threes. This kid has real college potential and will make a coach very happy. He uses his strength to his advantage and blocks out really well. He looks like a grown man playing against kids. Oteno ended up being one of the best overall players this weekend, and he sure didn’t miss many rebounds.
