Below you will find a brief rundown of five local wings in the 2021 class who’ve been playing well recently and could boost their stock this month.
JARED BILLUPS | 6’4 SF | MCDONOGH/TEAM BBC
Billups is an athletic utility-type wing who plays with a tireless motor. He’s a plus defender who blocks shots, gets steals, and likes to get out and fill the lanes on the break.
JALEN CURTIS | 6’5 SF | GOOD COUNSEL/TEAM STAT
Curtis is another athletic wing with intriguing potential on the defensive side of the ball. He’s a great leaper who is adept at blocking shots and rebounding out of his area.
DEVON SAVAGE | 6’5 SF | RIVERDALE BAPTIST/TEAM TAKEOVER
Savage is making shots at a high-level this summer. On several occasions, he’s knocked down five or more triples in a game, and done so efficiently.
MOHAMED TOURE | 6’6 F | SANDY SPRING/DISTRICT BASKETBALL CLUB
Toure is still just scratching the surface of his potential. He’s a long, lanky wing who can make shots and defend, but is best in transition where his athleticism takes over.
DAY’SJUAN WATERS | 6’4 SF | GOOD COUNSEL/DC PREMIER
Waters is a skilled scorer from all three levels with some serious wiggle. He is adept at creating space off the bounce for his shot, but is also a good rebounder from his position.
