Below you will find a brief breakdown of five local class of 2020 bigs who’ve been playing well recently and could boost their stock this month.
JORDAN BRATHWAITE | 6’6 F/C | GLENELG COUNTRY/NEW WORLD
Brathwaite is trending up after a strong showing at DMV Live II where he shot it better than expected from behind the arc. He is traditionally known as a rim-runner who rebounds, defends, catches lobs and finishes efficiently around the basket.
JASON EDOKPAYI | 6’6 F | MOUNT ST. JOSEPH/NEW WORLD
Edokpayi is a workhorse who has seen his stock rise in recent weeks, and his performances during the June live period have certainly helped the cause. He’s been a consistent producer in the spring and its nice to see his effort rewarded, but we don’t expect the offers to stop coming in.
ISAAC JAMES | 6’6 F | ST. FRANCES/TEAM BBC
James is a versatile big who can defend several positions and score inside out. If he can be more efficient and improve his shot selection, there is virtually no reason why he shouldn’t be considered a scholarship level talent.
RASHAUDE OHIO | 6’5 F/C | SURRATTSVILLE/TEAM TAKEOVER ORANGE
Ohio is a relentless rebounder who displays an intriguing skill set for his size. He is very capable of blocking a shot or grabbing a rebound and initiating the break on his own.
CHRIS SMITH | 6’7 C | RIVERDALE BAPTIST/DC THUNDER
Smith is a bruising big man with an impressive physical profile and a mean streak. He performed well at DMV Live II and could be on the radar of some low-to-mid level Division One schools this month.
