Here are a few players that stood out in this contest:
Kyree Ware – AimHigh – South Mountain HS
Ware was the engine for this team all game, and helped them get out to an early lead. He was consistently getting into the paint off the dribble and finishing a lot at the hoop. He also made good passes into the plethora of solid big men for post touches.
Omar Knight – Energy – Hamilton HS
I hate to say it, but he played with a lot of…energy.
Really, he was quick on his feet and played tough on both ends of the court from the start. On offense he distributed well as the main guard, and found some opportunities to score himself off the dribble, but he was really impactful with his man defense and help in some traps.
Christian Valle – Energy – Mtn Pointe HS
Sulka caught fire late in the game, and was the catalyst for Energy’s offense in closing out the game. He had ten of the last 15 points scored, including a few shots at the line when AimHigh tried to extend the game.
Basil Ribakare – AimHigh – Brophy Prep
Ribakare was caught in some foul trouble early, which kept him on the bench much of the first half. But, when he got back into the game, he played well with his inside game. He used his big frame and athleticism to play defense and collect boards, and showed some good footwork on a few post moves.
