Parker Escalante – Knights
He shot well, hitting a few threes and long jumpers from just inside the line. He also distributed the ball well in this game, which made the offensive scheme go much smoother for others on the team.
Lamont Johnson – The Rec
Though The Rec came up just short, Johnson was the best player on the court in this game. He was getting to the paint seemingly at will, and finishing at the hoop when he got there. He also played some good defense, using his good size for his age to block shots and collect a lot of rebounds.
Isaiah Kai – Knights
I really liked his energy on defense. He was not afraid to get in a guy’s face and crowd his dribbling path. He came up with some steals that led to transition opportunities on the other end, especially in the second half.
Isaac Astorga – Knights
He played a smooth all-around game, without having to score much to make an impact. He played solid on-ball defense, but his biggest impact on that end came as the second guy in a few defensive traps near mid-court against weaker dribblers. His points he did score often came on opportunities created from those steals.
