Keep in mind, prospect does not mean performer or best individual showing. This list is compiled of the players with the highest ceiling or potentially brightest future when considering younger players. I first listed out all of the best prospects and then separated them by position, so the numbers are not even.
Point Guards:
2022 6’4 PG Jayce Johnson (Fastbreak Sports 17u)
2020 6’1 PG Ricky Lujan (New Mexico D1 Ambassadors)
2020 6’2 PG Jalen Ashley (Rise Basketball 17u)
2020 6’4 PG Jaren Johnson (The Truth EYBL 17u)
2021 5’11 PG Wayne McKinney (Coastal Elite Slayers 16u)
Absolute Best PG Prospect: This would probably have to go to Wayne McKinney. He already has the most Division 1 offers out of this bunch and he can just flat out play. A legitimate top 250 player nationally and he showed no signs of slowing down. 2022 Jayce Johnson provides a close second as he is a year younger and plays the PG at 6’4, but Wayne is an established college prospect.
Shooting Guards:
2022 6’2 SG Davion Wright (The Truth 15u EYBL) *Feature image
2022 6’5 SG Ramel Lloyd Jr. (The Truth 15u EYBL)
2024 6’3 SG Jayden Harper (The Truth OC 15u)
2022 6’4 SG Wesley Mwaniki (The Truth OC 15u)
Absolute Best SG Prospect: This is actually a difficult decision, but Ramel Lloyd Jr. appears to be that guy for now. The Truth was loaded at the off guard position in their program with some skilled athletes on their younger teams. Jayden Harper could end up being the best out of this bunch, but it is difficult to stand by that statement, as he is only entering 8th grade.
Small Forward:
2023 6’6 SF Donald Jones (The Truth 15u EYBL)
Maybe the Best Prospect Overall: There is no need for debate here at this position as the one true wing player with college height already at 6’6. Donald may have the highest ceiling out of anyone at the event, despite not having played a single high school game. He will be on high major school’s radar before too long with his length and skill for his age.
Power Forwards/Centers:
2021 6’7 PF Fallou Cisse (California Select Black 17u)
2021 6’7 PF Jaden Brownell (Utah Premier White 17u)
2021 6’9 C Christian Ubochi (California Select Back 16u)
2021 6’7 PF Alex Stein (The Truth OC 16u)
Absolute Best F/C Prospect: There were definitely some raw and naturally talented big men at the Hustle Finals, but I believe Fallou Cisse has the best chance to be a big time prospect out of the bunch. His athleticism, motor and energy makes him a tough 2-way player, although his offensive skill set still needs some tuning up.
