The Rising Sophomore has a great combination of length and strength to hold his own against most post players. Landon showed the ability to rebound and score inside, but his outside shooting was what really impressed me. His long arms and high arcing shot make it very tough for opponents to defend.
Caleb Burton (SW IL Jets) – A top Guard in his class, Burton has an extremely mature game for a Rising Sophomore. The 6’0’’ PG from O’fallon Township handles the ball confidently under duress and has great court vision. He can shoot it well from outside or use his strength to get to the hoop and finish with either hand. Burton also gets after it on defense and makes the opposing ball handler really work to get into the offense.
Marcus Overstreet Marcus Overstreet 6'8" | C Whitney Young | 2022 State IL (Chicago Demons) – A 6’4” Forward/Center from Whitney Young, Overstreet was dominant down low over the weekend. His long arms made it tough for the offense to get clean looks and compete for rebounds. On offense he positions his body well to get himself open so his guards can toss it up to him on the post.
Mark Robinson (All Love Basketball) – Robinson is a 6’5’’ Forward from Bradley-Bourbonnais who is very tough to match up with, strength wise. The Rising Sophomore was dominant on the glass on both ends and could effectively guard any post player he matched up against. On offense Mark uses his body well and has a good set of post moves to get open looks at the hoop.
Sean Craig (Hopson Elite) – The Sylvania Northview Rising Sophomore is a very intriguing prospect in the 2022 class. The 6’5” Forward showed poise and strength on defense, but I was really interested in his offensive skillset. Sean can use his size to have success in the post, but his mid-range and three-point jump shot impressed me the most.
Ray Maurchie (815 Future) – The Rising Freshman from Winnebago was absolutely terrific this weekend. The 6’3” G/F can handle and shoot the ball well and slide down to the post and dominate with this height and athleticism. Maurchie also uses that athleticism, quick feet, and long arms to guard the 1-5 spots on the defensive side.
Brogan Mcintyre (Madison Spartans) – Mcintyre is a 6’4” Rising Freshman from Milton that showcased a ton of athleticism. The lengthy forward runs the floor well in transition and can slash through the lane to create openings for himself. His long arms and quick feet make him tough matchup against on both ends of the court.
