With the Pangos Sweet 16 in the books, below are the top guards from Arizona from the live period event. These guys did a good job of running the backcourt and putting their teams in spots where they could be successful.

Eric Blackwell 6’0 PG 2020 Corona Del Sol (Firestorm 17U)

Blackwell managed the tempo well for the Firestorm and was a lockdown defender. He was the most productive and efficient player for the Firestorm all weekend. He makes good decisions with the basketball and shot it at a high level. More importantly, he knows how to put his teammates in good spots. He was extremely solid.

Isaac Monroe 6’0 PG 2020 Peoria (Firestorm 17U)

Monroe often times get classified as a shooter. However, he has made the transition to being a point guard with Peoria and got to play in the backcourt often with Blackwell at this event. While he shot it well, what impressed me the most was how the game slowed down for him at the point guard spot. He made a lot of good reads and used his handle to set defenders up so he could get to where he wanted to get to on the
