The group plays together and shares the ball. Further, they play hard defensively and do the type of things that win basketball games. They were fun to watch during this live period weekend.
Sam Jex 6’0 2021 PG Spanish Fork (Salt Lake Metro 2021)
Jex does a good job of getting the basketball up the floor. He played fairly solid and get his teammates involved. Defensively, he kept the basketball in front and played with a lot of energy. He made a number of simple plays that aided his team in having a lot of success.
Max Topham Max Topham 6'7" | SF Parowan | 2021 State UT 6’3 2021 SF Parowan (Salt Lake Metro 2021)
Stubbs ran the floor well and finished well around the rim. He also did a good job of creating without having to take a hundred dribbles. He ripped and talked immediately. Further, he provided the team with good length defensively and was solid on the glass for Salt Lake Metro.
Max Topham 6’4 2021 PG Parowan (Salt Lake Metro 2021)
Topham was the most intriguing prospect that I saw with the Salt Lake Metro groups. He is listed as a point guard but rarely got to play that spot. He played four positions for the team and ran the floor well. He scored the basketball effectively and did a good job of letting the game be simple. Defensively, he rotated well in help side and did a good job of keeping the ball in front when on the ball.
Mason Ellingford 6’5 PF 2020 Evanston (Salt Lake Metro Gold 17U)
Ellingford did a good job finishing on the block and using his body to create scoring opportunities for himself. Despite being undersized, he had a lot of success due to his strength. He was able to move bodies and hold his position on the block. He was solid in their lose to Cal Supreme.
Boston Painter 6’7 PF 2020 Layton (Salt Lake Metro Gold 17)
Painter provided the team with good size and a capable finisher around the rim. The guards did a good job of finding him for dump offs. Further, he did a good job of creating angles by moving without the basketball that would afford his guards the chance to get him the ball in spots where he could score it.
