The 2022 Ohio Buckets opened up Summer Challenge play against the Wisconsin Playmakers on Friday night at St. Francis High School. It was a back and forth 1st half, with the Buckets pulling away in the 2nd half thanks in part to some chaotic full court pressure and perimeter shooting.
Stats:
The Buckets were led by:
• Logan Beaston (‘23 Tiffin): 16 pts, 4 asst
• Max Roth (‘22 Findlay): 14 pts, 6 reb, 6 asst
• Sam Houk (‘22 Bay Village): 12 pts, 6 reb
In the Platinum round of 32, the Buckets came roaring back from 14 down in the second half to pull even with Young & Reckless (Y&R) with a minute to go. A few late free throws by Y&R proved costly and handed the Buckets a 46-41 loss.

• Logan Beaston (‘23 Tiffin): 12 pts, 4 reb
• Luke Montgomery (‘23 Findlay): 10 pts, 8 reb
In the first game of Gold Bracket play at Benet Academy, it was another tight one for the Buckets who ended up on the wrong side of a 71-65 loss to eventual Gold Champions – the SW Illinois Jets.

• Isaac Roeder (‘22 Monroeville): 14 pts, 7 reb
• Jarrie Alexander (‘22 Sandusky): 12 pts, 5 stl
• Luke Montgomery (‘23 Findlay): 8 pts, 7 reb
In their finale, the Buckets led the Minnesota Pharaohs by 2 at half, but went on to grab a 68-55 win with some more 2nd half heroics. A surge of full court pressure mixed in with some half court zone was the change of pace needed to push the Buckets to a win and a 2-2 finish on the weekend.
