Last weekend I was able to cover one of those high profile events which also featured some very talented AAU teams and prospects. Here are some of those prospects that stood out at this event.
Jarrett Hensley | 6’8” | SF | Team KC | 2020
Hensley is originally a player that was in the class of 2019 but he decided to go post-grad to help his recruitment stock. He is a wing that can play the three or a stretch four because of his length, size and athleticism for the position. Hensley showed the ability to hit jumpers or put the ball on the floor and attack defenders from the perimeter. After a good performance last weekend Mr. Hensley has seen his recruitment grow and has picked up offers from multiple division 1 schools.
Kendural Jolly | 5’9” | PG | Team Buddy Buckets | 2020
Jolly is a tough point guard that is built like a college running back. The Oklahoma point guard is a physical player that knows how to create for others and can hit jump shots off the bounce from the top of the key. Jolly’s recruitment is somewhat quiet right now but I believe that that will change soon after his consistent play this grassroots season.
Brayden Lyons | 6’4” | SG | Oklahoma Impact | 2020
Lyons is a smooth guard that has great body control and good basketball instincts on the offensive end. He is a crafty ball handler that can see the floor and deliver pinpoint passes to open teammates. Lyons can also shoot it from deep or finish plays around the rim.
Justin Bubak | 6’4” | SG | Lincoln Supreme | 2020
Bubak looks like he has already gone through two years of strength and conditioning at a college university. The incoming high school senior is a dead-eye shooter that will knock down shots from all over if you give him any space. Coaches that need a physical shooter that can take a bump and is capable of attacking the basket need to recruit this Nebraska shooter.
Christian Cook | 6’2” | SG | Team Buddy Buckets | 2020
Cook was one of the best scorers at the Mullen’s High Profile Tournament. He has a good first step and can use his ball-handling ability to get to his spots on the floor for scoring opportunities. He can score on all three levels and is a solid passer for his position.
Tanner Mans | 6’5” | SF | Kansas Pray N Play | 2020
Mans is a big perimeter player that can really stroke it off the catch and is a good finisher in transition.
Shawn Warrior | SG | Kansas Pray N Play | 2020
Warrior is a fluid athlete that can play the one through three, because of his skill-set and basketball IQ. Warrior is also a good defender that can play on or off the ball. Whoever gets this young man is getting a two-way player.
