Cooper Peterson showed up to play his best ball in Fort Worth last weekend. He scored well on the outside shot, netting a few deep, deep 3-pointers and lending his offense an almost-unguardable weapon on the perimeter. Once he had defenders on their toes, Peterson took the ball to the rack and used his height to finish inside shots.
Christian Cook 2020 Team Buddy Buckets/Midwest City guard (pictured above)
Christian Cook spent most of the weekend above the rim, bringing his high-energy play to Fort Worth and leaving behind any doubts that he is one of the most talented athletes in Oklahoma. Cook could penetrate the defense with the handle and take the ball to the rack. Once he got as much as a dribble to gather, it was in defenders’ best interests to remove themselves from any proximity to the rim before they ended up on the wrong end of a highlight.
Dalante Shannon 2021 Team Buddy Buckets/Edmond North combo guard
Dalante Shannon was a potent scorer and defender all weekend, using his length and speed on both ends of the floor. In fact, his defensive skills translated to scoring on many occasions, especially in the man, where he stopped and stripped ball-handlers before finishing on the opposite end.. Shannon has elite elevation and ball-handling skills, which he used to finish baskets near the rim to rack up points.
Conner Calavan 2020 Tulsa Hawks/Fort Gibson wing
Conner Calavan was perhaps the most complete shooter at the camp last weekend. Calavan can add big points beside his name before you turn your head and realize the run he’s going on with his elite skills from the 3-point line. One of the more experienced shooters in Oklahoma, Calavan enters his senior season with high expectations as he boosted his namesake in Fort Worth.
Caden Hale 2020 Tulsa Hawks/Metro Christian point guard
Caden Hale further-established his name amongst the most complete players at the on-ball guard position last weekend. Hale did a great job using his iQ to find his own shots, taking the ball to the rim from the dribble, finishing at the rim with craft, distributing the ball down-court, and shooting from deep.
