Jordan Thompson was the go-to guy on the scoring end for championship-winning Team Buddy Buckets last weekend in Fort Worth. The standout senior attacked defenses all weekend from the dribble and knocked down exciting shots from deep, demoralizing the competition and lending his team a great competitive edge. Thompson is as exciting a prospect as any player from Oklahoma in the camp, as he boosted his stock all weekend with his energetic, never-slow-down style of play.
Kavon Key 2020 Oklahoma Hustle/Tulsa Memorial wing/guard (pictured above)
Defending 5A Champion Kavon Key was as versatile a scorer as anybody last weekend. Taking the ball to the rack from all three levels, Key was nearly unstoppable for opposing defenses as he turned heads and made spectators take notice. Key’s big body was hard to stop when he took the ball from the dribble, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that he can shoot the ball well, also. Key has a high motor and can continue to attack the opposition for baskets late in games once he has outlasted it.
Sean Pedulla 2021 Team Buddy Buckets/Edmond Memorial combo guard
Sean Pedulla set his competition aflame when he scored 32 points in the championship game, where the Buddy Buckets 16U team fell short to its 17U squad for the bragging rights. Still, Pedulla left his mark on the floor and had one of the most outstanding individual performances of the weekend.
Jameson Richardson 2020 Oklahoma Impact/Duke forward
The king of small-school Oklahoma hoops, Jameson Richardson impressed coaches at all levels in Fort Worth with his versatile scoring abilities and stature. At 6-foot-8-inches, Richardson is powerful and explosive, allowing him to dominate the inside game and gather boards, but his game doesn’t start there. He also was able to score the ball from the wing and hit outside shots to stretch the defense.
Sam Godwin 2020 Team Buddy Buckets/Southmoore forward
Sam Godwin was perhaps the most intriguing two-way prospect representing the Sooner State last weekend. Godwin almost recorded a triple-double in scoring, blocks and rebounds on the second day of the camp. Godwin exploded at the rim to score and did the same to protect the rim, where he excelled all weekend.
