Majak of Hamilton SoutheasternMabor Majak plays on a loaded Indiana Elite 2020 team where he gets to play against some of the top talent across the country on the Adidas Gauntlet. At 7’1”, Mabor is incredibly comfortable with his size and length. At this stage of his basketball journey, he has grown to know his length and understand how he can impact shots around the basket even if he isn’t blocking them.
Majak is good at blocking shots with either hand and has started to learn how to keep them in play to turn them into a live possession for his team going the other way. A big part of growing as a shot blocker is not just blocking the shot, but controlling the direction or possession afterwards. He is still working on his timing and anticipation. Mabor will become an elite rim protector nationally with his length and height.
Although he is long and lanky, he doesn’t get pushed off the block all the often. Majak is good with body positioning and understanding the offensive players tendencies.
Mabor currently holds offers from Miami University (OH), Bradley University, and Mercer University. Majak would be an impact player early for all of these programs. With the summer sessions starting to wrap up, Mabor’s list of offers is sure to grow.
He may be a late bloomer in terms of opportunities as schools may be looking to see him play in his high school season but his growth over the past couple years is telling for his future. Majak has just started to tap into his potential on the offensive end of the floor. He finished well at the basket with both hands (left-hand dominant) with a soft touch. He’s not the greatest at offensive rebounding yet but that will come with time and strength.
Mabor Majak is currently ranked as the #2 Center and #9 Overall prospect in the Class of 2020 with the potential to climb the ranking ladder very quickly as he will be a focal point for Hamilton Southeastern this upcoming season.
