There’s a different excitement that surrounds AAU basketball. Teams are highly competitive, players face adversity and they learn to become good teammates.
6’8 Power forward, Hayden Burgess is the epitome of a team player. His ability to get his teammates involved sets him apart from other players in his position. Burgess can put the ball on the floor. He’s more than a big man, he’s an all around player who handles the ball like a point guard.
Strengths:
- A menace on both ends of the court
- Can rebound, score and block shots
Christian Spalding, 6’1 point guard is fun to watch. He possess incredible court vision and creativity, all while orchestrating the pace of the game. His ball movement on offense makes him difficult to guard and he’s just as dominant on defense.
Strengths:
- Versatile point guard with great court vision
- Takes advantage of mistakes by defense
Stacy Anderson exudes confidence when he’s on the floor. He’s a 5’11 point guard that looks to pass but knows when its time for him to shoot. He’s able to create plays for others as well as create plays for himself. He can get rid of the ball or hold on to it and make something happen.
Strengths:
- Bends defense to his will
- Accurate passer and shooter
Owen Walsh is an explosive guard. He is a high riser with an incredible vertical leap. One has no choice but to admire the tenacity of Walsh. He rebounds, goes after loose balls and can go toe to toe with any big man you put in front of him.
Strengths:
- Hustle and crash the boards
- Respectable scorer and defensive player
Considering they are all in the class of 2020, we’ll be hearing more about them.
