If these first two days are any indication, elimination weekend is going to be ultra – competitive. Here are the standouts from Day 2.
Adonis Lafleur Chosen Few 2024 Las Vegas Main Event – Lafleur showed up big today, on a team with two other stars he got the team jump started. He stuck his nose in time after time to come up with tough in traffic rebounds. He drove the lane and showed great body control finishing through contact for several and 1’s.
Taj Degourville Chosen Few 2024 Las Vegas Main Event – At this point Degourville is a must see basketball player. I spoke with one former Big 12 All – Conference player who told me that Taj has “All the tools to be a pro”. Perhaps his only basketball weakness right now is his willingness to over dribble. Outside of that he has a great handle, is a knock down shooter, and today he showed his maturity. Against an Eastern Washington Elite team game planned completely to stop him, he calmly hit his teammates with on time on target passes until it was time to take over. IMO Degourville is a sure fire high major recruit and any list of top players in the 2024 class is incorrect if he’s not on it.
Jairus Dickson LMBA Elite 2019 Las Vegas Main Event – Dickson came up huge for his team in the best game of the day, scoring 5 points in the last 16 seconds to lead his team to victory of Texas Elite. The hard driving guard carried his team during long stretches of a very physical game. He drove the lane, rebounded and made clutch play after play for his team including this game winner.
Mikie Medlock LMBA Elite 2020 Las Vegas Main Event – The 6’2 Medlock is a smooth left -handed combo guard. In a frenetic game he played with poise and composure. He has a great left to right crossover and finishes in the lane over bigs. Mikie will be attending the prep hoops player combine on June 24th.
Antonio Patterson Texas Chaos 2021 Las Vegas Main Event – The 6’2 Patterson is an explosive athlete, who plays both inside and outside. He is a slasher who has no issue with dunking on you. While he plays inside for his Texas Chaos team, he has the ability and perimeter skills to play outside.
Jason Sims Team Rogue 2021 Las Vegas Main Event – Another tournament and another dose of Jason Sims surprising opponents who underestimate him. Drive left finish right is his MO and he does it effectively and consistently. He Runs Team Rogue’s offense like Brady, and always seems to understand what the right play is. Give him space and he’ll shoot it, crowd him and he’ll drive, double and he finds the open man.
Suray Gahir Team Drive Elite 2019 Las Vega Main Event – If you haven’t heard the name Suray Gahir yet, you better get used to it. The 6’3 combo guard from Canada has quickly hit everyone’s radar. Excellent passer with 6th sense type instinct, he can drive and finishes well with either hand. Awkward release on his jump shot but it goes in. Gahir is one of the top players in Canada and has received and offer from Cal – St Fullerton.
