Now it’s time to take a look back at what we learned during what has been an interesting month for recruiting. Below we take a closer look at five of the biggest stock risers from the local 2021 class.
TRENTON PICOTT | 6’5 F | SOUTH COUNTY/TEAM PRO LOOK
Picott continues to show signs of improvement with his skill set. He looks much more comfortable handling the ball and this will make him a very difficult matchup moving forward. Picott has just one offer but that should change before long.
ERIK REYNOLDS | 6’3 G | BULLIS/TEAM TAKEOVER
Reynolds parlayed a strong series of outings at Peach Jam into a solid run of play at the NCAA Camp in Storrs. His versatility and willingness to play the right way are two things that stand out.
JAKAI ROBINSON | 6’4 G | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN/TEAM TAKEOVER
Robinson took over during stretches at Peach Jam and cemented his status as the top prospect in the Prep Hoops MD/DC Rankings. Hopefully the national scouts took notice, but even if they didn’t, college coaches have. The high major offers have begun to flow in.
ABDOU SAMB | 6’6 C | FREDERICK DOUGLASS/DC PREMIER
Some of Samb’s biggest highlights this month included advancing to the UAA Finals Championship game and earning an All-Star Selection at Hoop Group Elite. He’s still got plenty of room to grow but is already producing at a high level.
ANDRE SPEIGHT | 6’3 G | SOUTH COUNTY/TEAM PRO LOOK
Speight looks like he’s still growing and that could be a problem for his opponents come high school season. We last saw him dominate at the Fairfax Summer League with his shot making ability and improving athleticism.
