Blaise Beauchamp of Howard Pulley (Findlay Prep). In four Peach Invitational Tournament games Beauchamp averaged 20 points hitting 41.7 percent of the dozen treys he took per game. Had a 33 point game making 12 of 21 shots against CP3, earned offers from Southern Utah and Siena. Dain Dainja also had a big weekend.
Josh Brown of Minnesota Heat Vang (Park Center). Brown had a pair of games hitting five or more threes including a 32 point showing against Lincoln Supreme that has led to the division one schools in the crowd looking into information.
Charlie Katona of Minnesota Fury (Shakopee). Charlie Katona went straight at high major talent and scored on them. Inside and outside. Charlie continues to aggressively attack the rim for production through contact and he’s hitting threes at a consistent rate. Katona had 29 against the talent of Team Parsons. He and John Henry have earned a new respect from the Best of the South event.
Gabe Madsen of Wisconsin Playground Warriors. The Playground Warriors made their way to the UAA semi-finals and Madsen was consistently the second scoring option after leading scorer Johnny Davis. Madsen earned offers from Xavier, Iowa State, and Cincinnati when the schools saw the potenital.
Lu’Cye Patterson of Mpls FAB (MN Prep Academy). Patterson led FAB to an 8-0 record in Myrtle Beach and the team is 16-1 since he joined the squad late this spring. Patterson was named the MVP of the Big Shots event in Myrtle Beach scoring 38 in the title game.
Reid Patterson of Minnesota Select Cave (Lakeville South). Patterson consistently scored 10 to 15 points each game with four or five go ahead shots plus one shot to force overtime and Reid hit a game winner. Made plays on both ends of the floor and rebounded well. A 2021 playing up.
Jalen Suggs of Grassroots Sizzle (Minnehaha Academy). Suggs was challenged by some of the best players on the UAA circuit and averaged 25 points in the five games he played. Matt Murrell and Team Thad won the UAA and are ranked 2nd in the nation, but Grassroots beat them with Jalen scoring 35 points.
Kerwin Walton of D1 Minnesota (Hopkins). Kerwin’s name is one of the hottest in the country in recruiting terms. He hit shots, Kerwin defended, and he scored 15 a game with several teams denying every pass. Walton hit on 46 percent of his threes this past weekend scoring 15 a game. Received offers from Miami, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, and Iowa after the weekend games. Teamed with Ben Carlson to score inside-out all game.
Matthew Willert of Minnesota Comets (Buffalo). Willert is 6-foot-6 and is one of the best shooters in the Midwest. Had 18 treys through the first five games he played plus there was a tremendous 33 point performance. Willert and Noah King worked well together as the top Comets 2020 options.
