Isaiah Smith @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine Recapture
Isaiah Smith (Farragut) put in a shooting workout with Combine Co-MVP Grant Hurst Friday night before the combine Saturday morning, so I was able to get an extended look at his game and personality.
Smith earned All-Star honors primarily for his incredible shooting, in rhythm, and Smith walked out with the #5 rank out of 34 participants.
Why? See how he measured up in June 2019.

Measurables for Isaiah Smith were merely ok. The Class of 2022 guard did not record fast sprint times. His height is point guard height, though he shoots like a remarkable wing or combo guard. And yet, Isaiah Smith earned his #5 ranking from the combine.
Isaiah Smith was easily a top 3 shooter on the day. Smith moved expertly without the basketball. He knew where the defense was or would be weak and exploited it constantly. Ridiculous consistent from the corners.
Smith can shoot off the dribble very well. he had both quick feet and exceptional shot preparation during the PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine.
Quick, high-finishing release. His feet were always set. Isaiah Smith will average 15 ppg this winter as a sophomore. He can’t not with his shooting touch.
Foot speed is the area he needs to improve quickly. Feel for the game, patience, and all the intangibles are there.
Farragut High has a good one in sophomore Isaiah Smith.
