Whether it is a school federation that they lock , or playing as an AAU team not on a circuit . We want to show some love to all those around the state!
Piedmont Classical: They feature two outstanding 2020 guards in Shakeel Moore and Jalen Joiner. Their record of 31-3 as well as going on to win the Independent Schools state championships and getting some wins at the national prep tourney in Myrtle Beach definitely gives them the bragging rights as the top independent program in the state of North .
New Life Christian: The amount of time that’s it’s taken New Life to turn their program around has been impressive. They featured several impressive players which included 2020 Wing Reggie Raynor who is currently picking up some D2 offers. They came up short in the semi-finals to QEA but the wins they got this year against some really good teams was impressive.
Quality Education: Year in and year out QEA has made noise and has sent a high amount of players on to the next level. This year was no different as they finished with a record of 16-3 and featured players such as El Ellis who would pick up some HM interest before going the JC route.
Word Of God Christian: One of the only schools in the state that features an alumni that was the #1 overall NBA draft pick as well as consistently having D1 talent. This year they didn’t have as many “big” name players but had plenty of talent and would have a solid year overall. NC State picked up their sharp shooter in Max Farthing and they will have plenty of 2020 players that schools will like.
Wilson Prep: We got the opportunity to see them prior to the high school season and were impressed with the talent on their roster .The lead singer of the band was Guard Tyrone Whittaker, a high flyer who averaged over 20 PPG and would eventually go on to sign with Catawba Valley CC.
Bull City Prep: They didn’t have some of the names that caught our attention like the 2018 class but there were quite a few impressive players on their roster. As usual they competed at a very high level, bringing intensity to the court game in and game out. There have been rumors that they have picked up on of the top 2022 players in NC for next season but only time will tell.
