LAWRENCE, Kan. — The 2019 Hardwood Classic wrapped up on Sunday at the Kansas Sports Pavilion with Howard Pulley EYBL 2021 defeating the Marcus Denmon Elite in the championships game.
Here, Prep Hoops takes a look at several of the tournament’s biggest stock risers in the 16U division from the Kansas side.
2 — Harrison Braudis, 6’0, G, 2021, Bishop Miege, MoKan 2021
Braudis is an underrated guard who is looking to take his game to new heights at Bishop Miege next year as a junior. He brings a steady hand to the point guard position, is a crafty ball handler with the ability to get to basket, shoot off the dribble and get his teammates involved. He also has good length and has the ability to surprise opponents with his leaping ability.
10 — Devon Junghans, 5’10, G, 2021, Salina South, SSA Elite Black 16U
Junghans has taken his game to new heights this season, combing speed, quickness and the ability to run the floor and finish in transition with a tough, defensive minded game as well. He has an emerging all-around offensive game, able to spot up and shoot the 3, and can knock down mid-range shots off the dribble and can finish in the lane as well.
00 — Andrew Orr, F/C, 2021, Blue Valley North, MoKan 2021
Known for his inside play, Orr showed off some skills on Saturday in MoKan’s first contest against the Colorado Chaos, putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket several times and getting to the free throw line. He often had his way in the post against the smaller Chaos squad and at 6’8, he uses his size well, showing good footwork and a soft touch in the lane.
40 — Charles Snyder, 6’4, F, 2021, Emporia, SSA Elite Black 16U
One of the state’s top forwards in the 2021 class, Snyder and Mike Cason had one of the day’s top individual match-ups on Saturday as each player took it to the other. Snyder has a nice post-up game and plays much bigger than his listed 6’4 height would suggest. He can also step out and shoot the 3 or even put it on the floor a little. Snyder is a tough, aggressive player who doesn’t back down from big match-ups.
4 — Dawson Zenger, 6’3, G, 2021, Rock Creek, SSA Elite Black 16U
Zenger is a smooth, all-around guard who can do a little bit of everything at a high level. He can score from all three levels, has good size and length and can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. A versatile, all-around offensive player, Zenger has a well-rounded game and has a lot of tools in his tool bag.
