Dayten Holman 2020 Team Griffin guard
Dayten Holman showed off his arsenal of talents in the mid-day, torching the opposing defense in every way possible. The 6-foot-6-inch shooting guard collected ankles with his handle, blew by defender and took the ball to the rack with his craftiness. Once he had defenders on their heels, he shot the ball with elite accuracy from deep. Most impressive, however, was Holman’s vision. He set up plays for his teammates almost effortlessly, using his awareness to create scoring opportunities for his team. Additionally, Holman rebounded and defended the ball well.
Jackson Lawley 2021 H&H Elite/Tishomingo point guard
Jackson Lawley caught fire in the first half of H&H’s second matchup of the day, netting four consecutive 3-pointers, including an off-balance buzzer beater from the corner to end the first half. Lawley is about as confident a shooter you’ll see this weekend, and it paid off for him today. Lawley also distributed the ball well and facilitated his teammates within the offense, dishing off to his fellow ball-handlers and even tossing a couple of lobs in which their consequent finish had spectators on their feet.
Conner Calavan 2020 Tulsa Hawks/Fort Gibson wing (pictured above)
Mr. Efficiency himself, Conner Calavan converted on 5-of-9 shots from the 3-point line in a win for Tulsa Hawks 17U in the afternoon. The senior standout was en fuego from the arc, embarrassing defenders by hitting shots amidst their contest and even knocking down one deep shot from the corner while falling out-of-bounds. When it comes to shooting, few players in Oklahoma, if any, are more talented than Calavan.
