In this one, I took a lot at some players from Colorado, that stood out to me.
Highlighted:
• Mason Hart (6’6” / F 2022 / Boykins Basketball Academy): Hart is a hardworking kid that makes winning plays for BBA. Active underneath getting rebounds, loose balls, second chance shots. Worked well in the pick&roll, where he often finished or found an open teammate on the opposite wing.
• Izaya Hells(6’1” / G 2020 / Colorado Anarchy): Hells has a good handle to his game, and didn’t turnover the ball a whole lot. Likes to turn it up on the defensive side and get after it. Jumps passes, creates turnovers and is a solid on-ball defender. Creates opportunity for himself and his team, finishes at the hoop with poise.
• Joe Cartelli (5’10” / G 2020 / Colorado Anarchy): Cartelli is undersized, but works well with or without the ball. Always moving, keeping the offense with a nice pace. Also, has the ability to create space off the dribble. Has a floater that drops in the lane. However, the five-foot-10 guard is also a willing shooter from beyond the arc.
• Aidan Kuhl (6’0” / G 2022 / Rocky Mountain Fever): One of the better guards I watched Saturday. Aidan has quick instincts on defense, that often has team in transition opportunities. Finishes strong at the hoop, and fights through contact. Kuhl has good vision, finding open teammates for easy buckets.
• Charlie Dortch (6’6” / PF 2023 / Rocky Mountain Fever): Dortch is still really young, but you can definitely see the upside already. The 2023 player has a strong game inside, where he out rebounds his opposition often. Bigger than most his age, he draws a lot of mismatch opportunities. Moves rather well, hustles back on defense.
