I watched plenty of talented teams, therefore I seen plenty of talented players. Specifically, these five below!
All in all, I have to say this was my favorite event yet on the circuit. There was talent everywhere, and plenty of good matchups.
Players:
• Roberto Hernandez (6’4” / WF 2022 / High Plains Storm): Hernandez is a skilled wing that moves pretty fluid. Long wing span allows him to deflect passes and make it tough on scorers. Unselfish player that finds open teammates on the perimeter often. Roberto also knocks down his free throws.
• Dionte Blanch (6’3” / G 2020 / Team Speights):Blanch is a physical shot creating guard. Works off the dribble, into a pull up that is hard to defend. Uses his screens well, often making the right decisions. A capable shooter from distance.
• Micheal Phillips (6’7” / WF 2020 / Team Speights): Phillips is a versatile forward that can guard multiple positions. Agile enough to stay with a guard, strong enough to work low. Also, was able to score off the high post often. A solid two-way threat.
• Lado Loku (6’10” / PF 2020 / Team FOE Elite): Loku was the biggest player I watched this weekend. He set solid screens, cleaned up rebounds and swatted shots. Ability to be a lob threat is there, per expected. Moves well for his size. Unselfish underneath and will move the ball if needed.
• Grant Pressly (6’5” / WG 2020 / Team FOE Elite): Grant Pressly was one of my favorite players to scout this weekend. Pressly has a knack for getting around the screen and open. A smooth jumper from mid-range, that often drops. A solid on-ball defender with a long frame that is versatile.
