There are several players that have made names for themselves this spring/summer. This upcoming weekend will be a huge opportunity for prospects to put themselves on the map. Here are 5 players that you need to know:
Zane Nelson (Hawks Elite)- Nelson has decent size (6’2) to play both on and off the ball. This kid is crafty with the ball and can stroke it from deep. Nelson has the ability defensively to defend both guard spots, and plays the game with a high IQ.
Holt Bashinsky (Pro One Select)- Bashinksy is a 6’4-6’5 sniper from Mountain Brook. He has a really good shooting stroke and mechanics. His length is disruptive in the passing lanes, and this kid is winner. You’d like to see him put in on the floor more, but Bashinsky plays to his strengths.
Chance Beard (Birmingham Thunder)- The 6’5 forward from Briarwood missed crucial time with illness. Getting back onto the floor is big for Beard. This kid plays with a motor, competes on the glass, and impacts the game on both ends of the floor.
Kane West (Nike Elite Stars)- West is a high energy forward. At 6’5, he has decent size to play both positions, but what stands out about this kid is his competitive spirit. West does not back down from a matchup and makes the opponent work.
Nick Bonifay (Alabama Celtics)- Bonifay is a high academic point guard. He is undersized at 5’10, but he is relentless. Bonifay has good vision and is deadly from deep. This kid continues to improve every time he hits the floor, and this weekend will be a great opportunity to show more consistency game in and game out.
