We caught up with Coach Bowie to discuss the combine and here are some of the top performers:
Jackie Johnson (2021 Southeast HS, KS) – Johnson has tremendous range on his shot but has a knack for looking to draw contact on the drive. He ran the table with the awards at the event, winning the one-on-one and two-on-two contests, teaming with Forest Grove rising senior Guy Littlefield on the second. Johnson currently ranks as the #1 ranked player in the PrepHoops Kansas rankings. He holds an early scholarship offer from Eastern Washington and has interest from the likes of Oral Roberts, Wichita State, Tulane, Nebraska, and Princeton.
Teegan Evers (2020 Huron HS, SD) – Evers was one of the surprises at the combine, impressing observers with his ability ability to dunk through traffic and finish above his defender. The 6-foot-4 rising senior showed a good feel for the game and currently ranks as the #10 player in the PrepHoops South Dakota rankings.
Austyn Shipps (2020 Cleveland HS) – Shipps was a bit player on the Warriors last season but if his play at the combine is any indication, he will make a major jump up as a contributor. He really put on a show during the one-on-one event with crafty moves by defenders.
Kobe Withers (2020 Sprague HS) – Withers has quickly developed a reputation with his mid-range game and at the combine it really showed as he was able to get to his spots and make shots. Coaches and observers alike were impressed with his potential.
Jamison Guerra (2020 Sherwood HS) – Guerra had a solid showing and was one of the top four standing players left in the two-on-two event. He recently earned a scholarship offer from OIT.
