NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2017 Hornets Ramon Sessions
Very physical. Deaunte looks and plays like a linebacker. His strength is an asset that he could lean on even more than he already does. Crawford narrowly missed the All-Star Game, but truthfully possesses the innate athleticism and even talent to make moves. He needs to commit to every play as there were some energy dips.
If you are looking for a player that did not make the All-Star Game that can play with that top bunch today…Crawford is that guy. His ceiling is higher than his camp ranking indicates. Handle could be better.
At his height he plays more like a wing or small forward. It would help him and his potential would grow if the dribbling gets to an elite level.
Crawford can defend and run the floor very well. His sprint time veered towards the top of the group (3.21/3.23). With his physique he would be able to finish in the lane and absorb contact. Much of the event focused on individual handles, shooting, and footwork. It did not allow for much mid-air clattering, but Crawford is built for and capable of dominating in this facet.
