RYAN CORNISH | 6’3 G | DISTRICT BC/SIDWELL FRIENDS ’21
Cornish has always been known as a shooter, which he did well this weekend, but he’s made significant strides on the defensive side of the ball and this was on display today. He was easily one of the best players for the 16U Elite Champs this weekend, and he came up big when his team needed it.
JACK FRICKA | 6’3 F | NOVA CAVALIERS/WEST POTOMAC ’20
With his team struggling to find a rhythm in the first half and consequently fining themselves down double digits at halftime, Fricka essentially took over. He started the second half by hitting four triples which instantly got his team back into it and eventually hold on for a good win over New World.
AMANI HANSBERRY | 6’6 F | TEAM DURANT/ST. JOHN’S 23
During Team Durant’s hard-fought battle with eventual 15U Champs Expressions Elite, Hansberry drew plaudits from the opposing team’s coaching staff who called him “the real deal.” He’s yet to step foot on a high school court yet, but it shouldn’t be long before he puts up 20-10 type numbers in the WCAC.
JORDAN HAWKINS | 6’5 G | TEAM DURANT/DEMATHA ’21
Hawkins is an electric athlete with intriguing physical tools and good skills, but its his feel for the game that continues to impress. One thing that he does extremely well that illustrates this is how he exposes the holes in a defense with his continuous off-ball movement.
PAUL LEWIS | 6’1 G | DC PREMIER/O’CONNELL ’22
Lewis was fantastic for a very talented DCP team that lost in heartbreaking fashion at the buzzer in OT of the championship game. A spitting image of his older brother Matt, a current standout at JMU, Paul has a similar playing style and depending on how much more he grows could be on a similar path.
RYAN PRATHER | 6’3 G | DISTRICT BC/CLARSKBURG ’21
Prather hit some key shots down the stretch to help DBC knock off Team Melo in the 16U Championship. He’s primed for a huge year at Clarksburg after a tremendous grassroots campaign.
