The 17u final four tomorrow is D1 Minnesota 16s vs D1 Rise, and Northern Lakers vs Matrix.
Kendall Blue of D1 Minnesota 16s. Blue is becoming more of a consistent possession by possession guy by the day. Hard working 6-foot-5 guard that defended with consistency all day, moved the ball to high percentage spots, and made a good share of his open looks.
Ky Harrison of Rise 16s. The Rise 16s continue to play well and a big reason was Harrison who was an offensive rebounding monster in a two point win over the Heat. Totaled 18 points and 21 rebounds in a game today.
Paris Johnson of D1 Minnesota 16s. The mid-range game of Johnson was outstanding hitting shots from 16 feet with comfort and Paris was able to go at the basket and complete regardless of what hands were located in his path.
Jackson Loge of D1 Minnesota 16s. One of Jackson’s better days finishing in a high percentage way but Jackson also rebounded in big numbers and did a great job moving the ball out of the post.
Tate Machacek of Matrix. Tate always boards and competes but today he showed that growing perimeter touch scoring 27 in a game where Tate hit five threes.
Rowan Nelson of Crossfire. Rowan had an MVP of the day performance in a won over the Comets scoring 26 points on a ridiculous 13 of 14 shooting! Worked his way to high percentage scores all day long.
Dunwa Omot of MN Rise. Outstanding day for the Minnesota Valley Lutheran wing. Dunwa hit five threes in an 11-point win over North Dakota Attack scoring 25 points with five assists and then had 22 points with nine boards in a win over Crossfire.
Peter Soumis of Northern Lakers. The Lakers have been off for seven weeks so they haven’t had a clean path to 3-0 so far (beat White Bear Lake and Nebraska Select by two scores each today). Peter continues to be the leader and this balanced team scoring day was finished off by the Soumis foul shooting to finish games.
Jaelen Treml of D1 Minnesota 16s. Treml was likely the MVP of the day as the D1 16s controlled Rip City and then beat Heat West by a score. More aggressive on offense today but his ability to battle to space around screens and moving with the ball to deny space was outstanding.
