Creative Coaching Combine in its inagural event, which was held in Corpus Christi, Texas. Southern Texas doesn't get a lot of coverage. I am thankful that they reached out to us at Prep Hoops Texas about the event. Here are the takeaways from some of the top prospects that coaches should get to know from Southern Texas.

Alec Roberson 6'2 170lbs G / Flour Bluff HS / 2022

Good overall floor awareness. See's the court well offensively. Always made the right pass to get his teammate's open looks. Played solid help defense and was vocal.

Cam De La Pena 5'9 140lbs PG / Veterans HS / 2022

Plays well in the half-court set. Quick lead guard that is tough for opponents to keep in front of them. His quickness allows him to set up his teammate's. Good lateral movement defensively combined with quick defensive hands.

Cole Dennis 6'3 209lbs SF / W.B. Ray HS / 2021

Cole is a shooter, who knocks down tough contested shots. He has a big frame with a nice handle on the ball. Has a decent back to the basket game also, but is better from the perimeter and short corner.

Hayden Wilson 6'6 180lbs PF / Flour Bluff HS / 2023

Lengthy young big who is pretty quick. Strong on the boards and seals the rebounds well. Good timing defensively to alter and block shots. Will be interesting to see how tall he grows and what type of weight he puts on over the years.

Jalen Williams 6'2 175lbs G / W.B. Ray HS / 2020

Solid floor awareness. He is a glue guy for sure. A scrappy player who is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Has a good handle on the ball and an IQ high enough to be a play initiator.

Ryan Nurenberg 5'10 150lbs PG / W.B. Ray HS / 2020

This was my second time seeing this prospect. He is definitely a hidden gem that would be a great addition to a D1 Low-Major/D2/D3. Whoever gets this prospect is getting a flat out scorer. Great elevation on his shot. Nice floor awareness and dribble combo to create for himself and others. He is a deep ball threat and a mid-range killer. Quick first step. A speedy guard who plays with his head up at all times.

Spenser Bigner 6'3 170lbs WG / Odem HS / 2019

Spenser was the only unsigned senior who participated. He is bouncy and did not hesitate to try to put opponents in the rim. Fast prospect with a decent handle. Challenges opponents at the rim defensively also. Any JuCo's still looking for a bouncy athletic guard who could play the wing look no further.
