Caleb Esley 6’5 PF / 2019 / Alvin H.S. [Texas Jazz Elite]
He was a walking double-double on the court for the tournament averaging 18 ppg and 10.3 rpg. He shot 51% from the 2FG and 60% from 3FG. I have seen this kid play on the Prep Hoops Circuit and various events throughout the summer ball season. I don’t understand how this 2019 kid hasn’t landed at an NAIA or D3 school yet. He plays very polished and is consistent in the entire game. He also averaged a double-double for his senior year on his high school team. Has a good high post skillset. Great head fakes and crashes the boards. Uses his quickness against bigger defenders and also bangs with them.
Ethan Yancy 6’4 SG / 2020 / Fort Bend Bush H.S. [RL9-Willis] as seen in the picture
Ethan is a scorer. When he gets going and in rhythm, he is a handful for any opponent. He can create for himself and plays with his head up to find his teammates. He is a big-time shot maker from behind the arc as well. He also can play above the rim. He averaged 19 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.2 spg, and 2 apg. He shot 45% from 2FG and 50% from 3FG. He is a prospect that D2/D3/NAIA should definitely have on their recruiting radar.
James Harrison Jr. 6’0 PG / 2019 / Aldine Nimitz H.S. [Texas Takeover Elite – Myron]
James plays with a high motor and was all over the floor. He has a quick first step and a tight handle on the ball. Uses his quickness to get into the lane. Finishes at a pretty high rate around the rim and through contact. He is also still available for any JuCo looking for a point. His tournament averages where 18.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 3.2 apg. He shot 59% from 2FG and 36% from 3FG.
Jordan Ivy-Curry 6’2 CG / 2020 / LaMarque H.S. [Houston Raptors-Benjamin]
Jordan is one of the Greater Houston top prospects in the 2020 class. He has a high motor with lockdown defense. His skill set offensively is crazy as he utilizes the triple threat to his advantage. Scores the ball at a high rate at all three levels. Plays above the rim and will dunk his opponent. He is definitely a D1 prospect that could be a steal at the D2 level. His averages from the tournament where 15.2 ppg, 2.5 apg, 2 spg, and 2 rpg. He shot 60% from the 2FG and 30% from 3FG.
Lonzo Rand 6’2 PG / 2020 / Spring Westfield H.S. [Houston Flight]
Lonzo was the best player at the tournament. No one could stop him as he was able to get where he wanted when he wanted. He also scored the ball at a high rate. Has great downhill speed with a good handle on the ball. He scores the ball in bunches. His ability to create for himself allows him to create for his teammates. He is definitely a stock riser as he has been playing big the entire Spring and early Summer. He is a D1 Low-Major/D2 prospect. His tournament averages where 22.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 5 apg, and 2.3 spg. Shot 60% from 2FG and 50% from 3FG. He was named the tournaments M.O.P. (Most Outstanding Player).
