Garner Road 2021 Forward Will Felton: It seems that each time we see him play, he gets better and is one of the more efficient players that you will see. Getting 20 points and 10 rebounds for him is something that can be done on a regular basis, he looks comfortable in the post, and doesn’t allow himself to get pushed out or rushed into anything. One of the best rebounders that we saw on the day, he understands proper positioning but more importantly he brings a workman type of attitude when he steps on the floor.
Team Loaded NC 2021 Jalen McDonald: If there was an MVP award for the event he would to be in the mix for the award just off of the performances he put together on Saturday. He’s a high flyer that can put the ball in the bucket and showed some ability to knock down the trey ball, if he can knock down shots from deep on a consistent basis, he’s a prospect with scary potential
Team Wall 2021 Forward Dondre Watson: Personally this was my first opportunity to get a good look at this youngster and he was very impressive. He plays the game in a physical manner, constantly attacking the paint and using his strength to make plays, he’s one of those players that can play in the half court but really seems to excel running the floor in transition.
Team Wall 2021 Forward Eric Van Der Heijden: Basketball runs in his family genes as we know his older brother is currently a D1 player and he’s possibly on his way to be the same. The versatility that be brings to the floor is something special, as he is a legit 6’8 and can play just about every position. His IQ, shooting, and overall natural feel for the game are all things that we really like about him.
Team Felton 2021 Forward IJ Izuma: Brought some size and interior presence for Team Felton 16U squad to collab with some outstanding guard play. What we liked was the fact that he didn’t try to do too much of anything, he kept the game simple and play his role, ran the floor and finished buckets in the paint.
Garner Road 2021 Forward Redford Dunton: Impressive performances thoroughly the event, it seems like he’s continuing to learn more and more how to use his frame to his advantage. Blocking shots, rebounding and taking advantage of the matchups he had were all things we saw from him. We saw him make some plays off the dribble to get to the basket which was is always impressive from a player with his height.
Team Wall 2021 G/F Sam Perez: He’s making his way up the ranking for prospects in the 2021 Class in the state and rightfully so. There’s a ton of things he does well and he doesn’t make the wrong play very often. Anytime you see a player with his combination of height and skillset, you have to be excited. Shooting the deep ball, getting to the basket, converting difficult passes, were all things he showcased.
Team Felton 2021 Forward Yohann Axel: A strong interior presence that you love to have on your team simply due to the fact that he doesn’t mind doing the dirty work. There isn’t a need to run plays for him as he creates his own offense by crashing the boards and getting put back buckets.
