C.J. James @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine Recapture
C.J. James (Howard) brought an electric game to the PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine. Three players, two of them starters, attended from the extremely successful 25-win 2019 Class AA State Quarterfinalist Howard Hustlin’ Tigers. James was the non-starter last winter, but will absolutely start in 2019-2020.

Speedy with a sharp change of direction. C.J. James is a dynamic player. Calvin “C.J.” James will grow into a prominent role with Howard this upcoming season. Already a lockdown defender, James can hit the outside shot when given the chance.
Wingspan is really helpful with handles and defensive reach. James was and is always one of the quickest guys in the gym, as evidenced by his lane agility time.
James stayed in front of burner Caleb Grimes very well.
He also blocked Taras Carter easily.
James recorded a top 5 sprint time at the combine. His height is ok, not great for a college point guard. There are few limitations beyond this uncontrollable.
Big moments do not frighten C.J. and he showed up big in fourth quarters all 2019 season.
Class 5AA guards need to toughen up because elite defender and consistent shooter James is ready to dominate his senior season.Follow @PrepHoopsTN for the latest.
