Teams To Watch
Georgia Knights/BigShots Elite Georgia
The best grassroots team in the state of Georgia will be in action in Myrtle Beach from July 11-14. They’ve got Kennesaw State commit Chris Youngblood as well as 2020 guard Kirshon Thrash, Brandon Stroud, Roman Son and Rasean Frederick. It won’t surprise me if they don’t lose a game all week. They’re a team that is full of players who know their role and play at a high level no matter who they’re up against.
BigShots Elite West Virginia
BigShots Elite West Virginia has a number of solid prospects on their roster in Kadin McClurg, Lance Monteiro, J.R. Mazza and Kaden Metheny. Metheny and McClurg are the two prospects that really make things go for this squad. Metheny’s stock really rose during the previous live period and he should draw some offers this weekend.
BigShots Elite North Carolina
BigShots Elite North Carolina has quite the group of prospects with Nolan Dorsey, Jeremiah Baker, Nick Farrar and Jake Bertolini-Felice. Farrar is one of the biggest stock risers in his class and has all the tools to be a solid mid-to-high major prospect. Dorsey and Baker should also have strong weeks. Dorsey recently received offers from Rider and Air Force.
Team Richmond Garner Road
Team Richmond Garner Road has some sleeper prospects as well as some prospects that should draw a ton of interest. 6-foot-11 big man Burke Smith is one prospect to watch on this squad. He holds offers from Ohio, Northeastern, James Madison among others. 6-foot-3 guard Jordan Crump is another prospect to keep an eye on. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him gain an offer or two after this weekend.
Dallas Seawolves
The last time I saw this team play, they were one of the more competitive teams that set the tone on both ends. Led by guards Thailand Elder and Abdul-Noor Beyah Jr., this team really gets after it on both ends. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were in discussion for a title before the end of the tournament.
Players to Watch
Brady Whilden – 6’3 – WCBA Elite Blue
Brady Whilden is one prospect that plays on 100 from tip to buzzer. He’s got nice size and strength for his size at 6-foot-3 and he won’t hesitate to get to the rim and put his opponent in the rim.
Kai Kueper – 6’9 – Virginia Blaze Orange
Kai Kueper is an emerging big man prospect that can stretch the floor with his jump shot. He’ll be one prospect to keep an eye on this squad.
Brandon Johnson – 6’5 – 7th Nation Warriors
Brandon Johnson is a big man that holds his own on the interior. He can play above the rim and protect the rim. He’s already drawn interest from NC Wesleyan.
Daymon Beckwith – 6’1 – 910 Vengeance
Daymon Beckwith is one prospect to keep an eye from 910 Vengeance. He’s only in the class of 2021 but he plays on the 17U circuit and has tons of skill with the ball in his hands.
Misha Zurabashvili – 6’6 – Hill City Crash
Misha Zurabashvili is automatic offense when the ball touches his hands. He’s got nice size for a wing at 6-foot-6 and should draw a lot of interest this weekend.
Kuluel Mading – 6’11 – New Light Disciples
Kuluel Mading has hit the ground the running this summer. He holds an offer from Western Carolina and is drawing interest from a ton of high-major and mid-major schools.
