6’1 Guard, Jordan Jones, Carolina Dream Team, 2020
Jordan Jones put up double-figures in scoring in all three appearances he made with the Carolina Dream Team. The 6-foot-1 point guard put up 22 points and 28 points while making nine 3-pointers, showing off his ability to score from anywhere on the floor. Jones has tons of interest already with some high major D2 and low-major D1 programs and he showed why during the BigShots Myrtle Beach Finale.
6’0 Guard, Jordan McNeill, Flight 22 UA Rise, 2020
Jordan McNeill was another quick and shifty guard that stood out with Flight 22 ‘s UA Rise squad. McNeill went off for 20+ points in his team’s opening games and during bracket play, showing off his ability to get to the rim when he wanted. He used his size and strength well to draw fouls and get to the foul line. He made 14 free throws on the weekend. He’s got an offer from Georgia Southwestern State and is drawing interest from VMI, Air Force, North Georgia and Chowan.
6’5 Wing, Ricky Council IV, Flight 22 UA Rise, 2020
Ricky Council IV made a return appearance with Flight 22 UA Rise in the final AAU weekend of the summer after playing much of the season with Team Felton. Council made a total of 24 free throws, a division-best, as the lead option for Flight 22 and produced 20.4 points per game. He showed off an impressive floor game and attacked the rim with reckless abandon all weekend long.
5’10 Guard, Javon Thompson, Griffin Grasshoppers, 2020
Javon Thompson was responsible for an impressive comeback victory against Team Hicks 74-70, putting up 26 points in the win. Thompson used his quickness on defense to get easy baskets on the offensive end and his abilities stood out for much of the weekend. He put up 22 points against the Confidence Cougars in his team’s final game of the tournament.
6’5 Wing/Guard, Danyus Daniels, Team Hicks, 2020
Danyus Daniels put on quite the show for Team Hicks on the 17U circuit. Daniels was quite the force in the paint on both ends, blocking shots and finishing strong in the paint. He finished with a team-high 23 points in their second game of pool play and put up 18 points against Northeastern Sports. He can fill it up around the rim with the ball in his hands.
6’2 Daniel Sanford, Team United EYBL, 2022
Daniel Sanford has continued to improve these past few weeks as a pure scorer. He showed off an aggressive streak of getting to the rim with the ball in his hands. He produced 19.0 points per game at the BigShots Myrtle Beach Finale, good for third in the division. Sanford will be one to watch this upcoming season at Vance High School.
6’0 Guard, James Jones, Flight 22 , 2022
James Jones was responsible for one of the more impressive comebacks with the ball in his hands. Jones led the way for Flight 22 as they staged quite the comeback after trailing by 12 points at halftime. He finished with a team-high 23 points while scoring from the free-throw line and on the break, showing off his abilities when his team needed him most.
6’2 Guard/Wing, Athan Gill, Team Felton UAA, 2023
Athan Gill will be one to watch in the 2023 class wherever he ends up for his high school career. He’s got underrated athleticism that allows him to finish above the rim and he uses his strength well to get to the rim. He opened the weekend with 29 points, making 10 free throws for his squad as well. His development will be something to watch.
5’11 Guard, Ezekiel Brock, NC Vipers, 2023
Ezekiel Brock was another guard in the 2023 class that showed what he can do in pool play. Brock posted 22.5 points per game during the BigShots Myrtle Beach Finale while making seven 3-pointers and leading the way in free throws made (12). He’s a three-level scorer already that’s one to watch at Cape Fear Christian Academy.
