CC Elite 2022 wins the title in 15U play
Carolina Courts Elite brought their A-game all weekend long by going undefeated on the weekend. They posted the upset of the day with a sudden-death victory 52-50 over Team United EYBL.
CC Elite was led by 2022 wing Kyle Frazier in the victory, as he posted 19 points, showing off his shooting and ability to get to the rim. Point guard A.J. Cook controlled the 3-point line for the team with three made 3-pointers.
2022 forward Isiah Williams controlled the glass and finished with eight points, including the game-winning tip-in in the final frame. 2022 guard Aaron Hough also posted 12 points and finished as the MVP for his overall performance, averaging 13.0 points per contest on the weekend.
Team United EYBL wins the 17U crown
Team United’s EYBL squad got the job done in 17U play with a 78-70 victory over WCBA Elite Blue in the title game.
Josh Massey had quite the game as he posted 22 points, getting to the rim and the free throw line at a frequent rate. The 6-foot-7 2020 wing showed off his all-around floor game all weekend long, averaging 21.3 points per contest.
2020s Destin Clark, Mike Dudley and 2021 guard Cedric Patterson paced the team as well with 11 points, 13 points and 15 points, respectively.
WCBA Elite Blue had some strong performers
WCBA Elite Blue lost in the title game but they got strong performances from a trio of Armon Muldrew, Michael Boney and newcomer Noah Dunn.
Dunn led the 17U division with 26.0 points per contest and finished third in 3-pointers made with 13. He showed off his ability to be a leader on offense, taking the reins as the team’s primary scorer.
Boney finished fifth in the division in scoring with 70 total points while averaging 17.5 points per game. Muldrew filled his role well, scoring when needed as well. He finished producing 15.0 points per game on the weekend.
BigShots Elite North Carolina controls 16U once again
BigShots Elite North Carolina’s 2021 squad faced off against WCBA 2021 in the 16U title game and once again came away victorious 68-65.
It was a back-and-forth battle but in the end, BigShots got the victory thanks to 30 points from sharpshooting guard Luke Proctor. Proctor made eight 3-pointers and took home MVP honors after a stellar performance in the game.
Toby Harris also had a strong weekend, putting up 14.7 points per game and making seven 3-pointers on the weekend. He put up 15 points on three made 3-pointers in the title game.
