Lets take a look at some of the Top Performers from the State of South Carolina yesterday on the Grand Strand.
Darjawuan Brown Darjawuan Brown 6'0" | PG North Charleston | 2020 State SC (2020) – North Charleston HS – Low Country Elite (pictured on the front)
Mr. Brown took over for the Low Country Elite and guided them to a (2-0) start coming into Sunday. Brown averaged 26.1 ppg for the Cougars and Head Coach Chris Brown. Brown connected for 29 points and 8 three pointers in his second game of play yesterday. Brown nicknamed “Doggie” really wants the ball in crunch time and plays with ice in his veins. Brown has had interest this spring from Citadel (siting courtside), South Carolina State University among others this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="642086" first="James" last="Marques"]James Marques James Marques 5'10" | SG Myrtle Beach | 2020 State SC (2020) – Myrtle Beach HS – Manzer
Marques might be short in height but not in determination on the floor. Marques is a absolute pest and pesky defender on the ball. Marques likes to play the game 94 feet and create havoc. Marques had 7 steals a unofficial count according to my stats in a win over the Virginia Blaze. Marques is a very competitive kid on the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="747011" first="Jabare" last="Perry"]Jabare Perry Jabare Perry 6'8" | C Liberty Heights | 2022 State NC (2021) – Calhoun County HS (St Matthews) – Low Country Elite
Perry showed some toughness yesterday I hadn’t seen before from the slender wing player.Perry 6’7 has seemed to grow a bit since the high school season. Perry feels most comfortable playing face-up to the basket and cant step-out and knockdown the 3 ball. Perry has really made some good strides in the past year since seeing him play with the Saints and legendary Head Coach Zam Fredrick.
Tre’von Spillers (2021) – Military Magnet (Charleston) – Low Country Elite
Spillers 6’5 lefty really likes to handle the ball at times when given the opportunity. Spillers is all arms and legs with his slender frame. Spillers passes the very well and likes to take the short corner jumpers. Spillers averaged 18.7 ppg this past season for the Eagles.
[player_tooltip player_id="840217" first="JJ" last="Jones"]JJ Jones JJ Jones 6'3" | SF Myrtle Beach | 2021 SC (2021) – Myrtle Beach HS – Big Shots North Carolina 2021
Jones is on loan this weekend playing with a Hoop State Big Shots club. Jones generally plays with Big Shots South Carolina 2021 but since they weren’t playing he changed uniforms for the weekend. Jones is in the midst of a transfer between Socastee HS to Myrtle Beach HS. The transfer is causing some hold ups at the moment. Jones a football prospect is a high energy kid on the hardwood who can really bring a great motor to the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="840239" first="Trey" last="Miles"]Trey Miles Trey Miles 6'3" | SF Latta | 2021 State SC (2021) – Latta HS – B.H.B.
Miles seems to play out of position for this undersized squad from the Pee Dee. Miles a left-handed guard excels with the ball in his hands out on the perimeter. Miles has really good court vision and can knockdown the 15-17 footer. Miles at times seems to be just one step ahead of his teammates ahead of the game.
Marcus Moore (2019) – Socastee HS – Confidence Cougars
Moore 6’8 was playing with his local team yesterday. Moore signed this spring with Kansas City Kansas Community College. KCK plays in the Jayhawk Conference and is a NJCAA D2 program.
