Prep Hoops made the short drive up to the Myrtle Beach Sports Center and took in the action. The Big Shots Myrtle Beach Finale will cap off the July period this weekend. Lets take a look at some of the 2022 Top Prospects from the Palmetto State on Day 1.
Perry Smith Jr. – Legacy Early College (Greenville) – Team United (pictured on the front)
Smith 6’8 played very well for Team United today in a close victory over Carolina Ballin. Smith was running the floor and filling the lane in transition. Smith rebounded the ball on both ends of the floor today. Smith came to Legacy Early College at midseason last year after attending Lincoln Academy (GA)..Smith is ranked #3 in the Prep Hoops 2022 Palmetto State Rankings. Smith should see more playing time this season and a national schedule for the Legacy Early College Lions.
Seth DeBruhlSeth DeBruhl – Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach – Team United
DeBruhl will be given the keys to the offense this season with Lawton Fulford (2021). DeBruhl is a very confident player on the floor and plays with some swag. DeBruhl connected on some mid-range jumpers when he wasn’t finding a open man in transition to pass it to.
Heston FosterHeston Foster – ?????? – Carolina Ballin
Foster had a big season last year for the Catherdral Academy Generals and led them to the SCISA 1A State Championship Game. Foster averaged 17.3 ppg and 8.3 rebounds last season. Foster does most of his damage around the basket but can step out on the perimeter to hit a shot. Foster looks to be on the move this off season but as of today he told Prep Hoops – he wasn’t sure where that might be yet.
Sakharis Smalls – West Ashley HS – Rock Nation Impact 2022
Smalls is a junk yard dog in the post. Smalls is not going to win you over with style points but he will with all out effort. Smalls a lefty was very aggressive on the glass all day long. Smalls had several put backs around the basket. Smalls did his best work 2-4 feet from the basket.
