All tourney team:
G: 5’9 2021 Julian Agosto (Rainier Beach HS) *Feature image
G: 5’9 2020 Jaden Call (Stadium HS)
G: 6’2 John Hart (Rainier Beach HS)
F: 6’7 Kenzel Massey (Lakes HS)
F: 6’6 LJ Armstrong (Rainier Beach HS)
Analysis:
Each one of these players will play at the next level, although the level that they will play at is still to be determined. Julian Agosto really stood out to me and continues to impress this summer. He is lightning quick and I love the way his skill set is evolving and maturing over time. He understands how to play the game and is not just relying on his natural ability. Jaden Call (will be added in next rankings update) was playing with an injured hand, but pushed through and got it done at a pretty high level. He was face guarded in the time I saw him and he will need to get comfortable facing double and triple teams as a smaller guard. He can attack the basket and stroke it from the outside above average. He also did a good job of defending Rainier Beach’s best player and making life difficult for him. John Hart was easily a standout performer in this event once again. The springy guard has seen his recruitment pick up some and he is showing no signs of slowing down. I like his ability to create his own shot and make plays in transition. Kenzel Massey came into the event as the most coveted prospect due to his length and shooting ability. Although he can make outside shots, Kenzel needs to be able to break his man down off the bounce to take his game to another level. He shows it at times, but he could be a lot more aggressive attacking the paint. LJ Armstrong is figuring out his role at the high school level and that is being tough, physical and rebounding the ball at a high level. He has a solid frame and length to go along with some athleticism. His motor is pretty good and he is learning to really play the Rainier Beach way. Continuing to make strides with his offensive skill set with be key for him as a college prospect.
