AAU Weekend Recap: July Live Period
Kentucky’s AAU programs spread out from Louisville to Alabama and about everywhere in between this past weekend in hopes of impressing coaches and securing scholarships. Here are the team results from the weekend that were sent to us via the Prep Hoops twitter or by my scouring the various tournament websites trying to . They are listed in no particular order.
Pride Athletics 15u won the Gold Bracket Championship at the Ballin’ Under 1 Roof event. Nelson County’s Bryce Riley and Raceland’s Andrew Floyd had big weekends.
Pride Athletics 16u went 2-3 at the Ballin’ Under 1 Roof event in Louisville. Cole Thompson and Austin Chiles had good weekends for Pride.
Pride Athletics 17u won the Bronze Championship at Ballin’ Under 1 roof. Blake Stewart and Nick Keeton had strong weekends. Stewart showed his toughness by getting stitches after one game and coming back to play the next game.
Manimal Elite 15u lost the Gold bracket at the Adidas Summer Championship. The backcourt of Turner Buttry and Jack Edelen helped get Manimal to a 5-2 weekend overall.
Manimal Elite 16u won the Gold bracket at the Adidas Summer Championship. They finished the weekend at 6-1 overall behind strong performances from Isaiah Mason and Rooster Woodard.
Manimal Elite 17u lost in the Gold bracket of the Adidas Summer Championship in Birmingham. Marques Warrick had a huge weekend, averaging 18 points per game. Madisonville’s Ksuan Casey and Kenny White had strong showings as well.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs 16u battled through injuries and illness to go 3-4 at the Under Armour Championships. Ben Johnson drew a large crowd of coaches over the weekend while Jordan Akal showed his ability to score the ball.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs 17u also finished 3-4 on the weekend with a couple of narrow losses. Dayvion McKnight impressed coaches and got a couple of new offers while Luke Morrison showcased his shooting ability in a couple of big games.
Charlotte Court 15s went down to the Best of the South and finished 4-2 on the weekend. Kanye Henderson had a good showing and scored the ball well this weekend.
Charlotte Court 17s had a great weekend, finishing 6-1 at the Best of the South. They only had a 3 point loss on the weekend while racking up several good wins.
The 16u Kentucky Defenders finished 2-4. Blake Robinson had a very strong weekend while Lloyd Memorial’s Zaire Monroe chipped in a solid weekend.
The 17u Kentucky Titans also went 2-4 on the weekend at the Best of the South. Drew Manning and Kobey Scott both had good performances for the Titans.
17u Cky Magic – Morton went 4-1 at the Ballin Under 1 Roof event in Louisville and lost the South Platinum Championship. Amirion Joyce and Lincoln Bush both received praise for strong weekends.
17u Cky Magic – White went 3-1 for the weekend, losing in the semifinals of the West Platinum Championship by a point.
17u Kentucky Elite had a rough weekend, finishing 0-4 at the Ballin Under 1 Roof event.
Kentucky Supreme 17u went 1-4 at the Ballin Under 1 Roof event.
