AAU Weekend Recap: All-In Hoopfest
Many of Kentucky’s AAU programs wound down their seasons this weekend in Louisville at the All-In Hoopfest. While the event couldn’t be attended by NCAA Division I coaches, D2, D3 and NAIA coaches were in the building and were treated to some good games. The weekend’s results are below. They’re in order by age group and then by the pools they played in.
15u Division
Manimal Elite split their pool play games and wound up in the gold bracket. Once they got to the Gold bracket, they rolled through the semifinals and finals by a combined 100+ points. Turner Buttry and James Jewell were standouts for the weekend as Jewell keeps solidifying his status as the top player in 2022 in Kentucky.
The Louisville Magic squad lost both pool play games by a combined 3 points but went on to win the Silver Championship. Jerone Morton and Hagan Harrison combined to lead the Magic all weekend.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs split 1-1 in pool play and dropped the first game of the Gold bracket. Ethan Sellars (Ashland) and Aden Slone (Danville) both had good weekends.
Charlotte Court also split their pool play games at 1-1 and won a game in the Gold bracket before falling in the semifinals. Henry Clay’s Kanye Henderson and Petey Lindsay of Bryan Station had strong showings. Lindsay dropped 34 points Sunday morning.
The Louisville Legends went 1-1 and made the Gold bracket before losing two games on Sunday.
Pride Athletics went 2-2 on the weekend. They went to the Gold bracket and lost to Charlotte Court before beating the Louisville Legends on Sunday afternoon.
Hard to believe it, but not one Kentucky team made the Platinum bracket this weekend. Tennessee’s B. Maze Elite – White won the Platinum bracket.
16u Division
The Louisville Magic had a great weekend, winning the North Platinum Championship. Fern Creek’s Zek Montgomery and Male’s Dez Lindsay had strong showings for the Magic.
Manimal Elite’s only loss this weekend was to the Magic. Manimal went on to win the Gold Bracket with two big wins. Isaiah Mason of Bowling Green and Alijah Watts of University Heights were the two brightest stars of the weekend for Manimal.
Louisville Elite went 1-1 and then made the Gold bracket finals before losing to Manimal. Male’s Cameron Pope had a good weekend, showcasing the depth the Bulldogs will have this season.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs dropped the North Platinum Championship to the Magic but won their first three games of the weekend before dropping that title game. Ben Johnson of Lexington Catholic had a 28 point point half on Saturday while 2022 Jordan Akal had a good scoring weekend overall.
Charlotte Court had a rough weekend, finishing 0-4 but Harrison County’s Clay Carpenter had a good showing as they nearly knocked off M.A.T.T.S. on Saturday before a buzzer beater sank.
The 2021 Louisville Prospects split their pool play games and won a pool play game before losing to Manimal in the Gold semifinals. Henry County’s Trevor Hardin and Spencer County’s Jake Whitlock both stuffed the stat sheets for the Prospects.
Shining Stars Price won the Platinum South title behind a strong team effort. Wyatt Vieth of Saint Henry was one of the bigger scorers for the Shining Stars this weekend.
Pride Athletics also split the pool play on Saturday and then dropped two games on Sunday to end the weekend at 1-3. Pride had a short bench all weekend but Austin Chiles had a couple of nice scoring games.
The Kentucky Defenders went 1-2 on the weekend, falling in the Gold bracket on Sunday. Blake Robinson of Grant County and Zaire Monroe of Lloyd Memorial are a tough scoring combo.

The Louisville Prospects split their pool play games and made the Gold Bracket where they won the Gold Bracket via a forfeit. Zak Perdew of Bullitt East and Jake Evans of Male were a tough backcourt duo.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs made the Platinum North Championship game where they lost to Hidden Gems Black by a point. Collins’ Dayvion McKnight and Matt Cromer of South Laurel combined for a big scoring weekend.
Manimal Elite went 2-0 on Saturday to make the Platinum Bracket but lost their opener on Sunday to Apex and forfeit their second game. Marques Warrick was huge on Saturday but missed Sunday. Tyren Moore of Male had a good game against Apex Sunday.
The Kentucky Titans fell in both games on Saturday and suffered another loss on Sunday but their final game result wasn’t on the website or app. Kobey Scott of Male was impressive as an inside out scorer.
The Ville features a handful of Kentucky kids on their roster and they ended their season with a 2-0 Saturday before a 2 point loss in the Platinum bracket and won a game against the Louisville Prospects after both teams had a forfeit.
Charlotte Court split their Saturday games and dropped a game on Sunday to finish the weekend at 1-2.
Iam3rd Ice Blue went 1-1 in pool play and made the Gold bracket where they won a game before falling in the semifinals on Sunday afternoon. LCA’s Zeke Grier had a 30 point game on Sunday.
Iam3rd Ice White went 0-2 in the pool play games Saturday before splitting two games on Sunday. Bourbon County’s Koko Lukonga had a strong weekend and will be a factor in the 10th region.
Pride Athletics topped the Louisville Legends and ended up winning their pool and making the Platinum Bracket before falling in the opening round but did salvage a weekend split by winning their Sunday afternoon game.
The Legends went to the Gold bracket with via tiebreaker after pool play. The Legends on their first bracket game Sunday but lost the semifinals of the Gold bracket by a point. Noah Courtney of Male had a strong weekend.
