Houston We Have A Point Guard!
Houston, Texas has had a lot of special point guards come through that city. Incoming freshman Jaland Lowe of Texas Pro 14U displayed some point guard instincts that makes me believe that he could be the next special point guard from Houston. He was hard to stay in front of because he is so tight and quick with his dribble. Lowe also showed that he is a terrific passer and a good shooter that can hit multiple threes off the bounce or off the catch. Against YGC36 2023, Jaland was unguardable and he finished with a game-high 29 points which consisted of 5 threes and multiple floaters. Lowe’s superb point guard play this past weekend helped his team win the 8th-grade championship at the Gaso.
The San Antonio Splash Brothers
Gerry Martinez and Matthew Soto are a very lethal backcourt that can really shoot the ball from multiple spots on the floor. The two guards from San Antonio Hardwork 2023 are very smart basketball players that know how to move well without the ball in their hands and when they are left open there’s a good chance they’re going to make you pay. After watching the talented duo this past weekend it’s clear to me that they are one of the best AAU backcourt tandems in the state.
Kendrick De Luna has a high ceiling
De Luna has all of the physical gifts to be a really special college prospect. The big man has the touch around the basket and also has good coordination for a player his size. Kendrick proved this weekend at the Gaso that he is one of the best bigs in the state for the class of 2023.
