William Harris 6’1 SG 2020 Wasatch (UBC Select 17U)
Harris shot the lights out of the gym. He can let it fly from multiple levels and do it in multiple ways. He shot it off of screens and in catch and shoot situations. Further, he shot it well off of the dribble. He is extremely confident scoring the ball and is not shy. Due to this, he led the team in scoring by a large margin.
Jude Ballstaedt 5’11 PG 2020 Wasatch (UBC Select 17U)
Ballstaedt has some talented wings and combo guards that he gets to play with. However, make no mistake about it: Ballstaedt is the engine that makes this whole thing go. He is a true point guard who is not afraid to mix it up on the glass. His ability to run the team and put guys in spots where they can have success was demonstrated throughout the weekend.
Trevon Leonhardt 6’4 PG 2020 Davis (Utah Mountain Stars 17U Gold)
Much like Ballstaedt, Leonhardt has plenty of wings and combo guards that allow him to share the basketball at a high level. In addition to having a high basketball IQ and a good feel for where his teammates can produce, Leonhardt is special because he can impact the game in an array of ways. He has good length and competes on every possession. Due to this, he nearly averaged a triple double at the event.
Taft Mitchell 6’1 PG 2020 Orem (Utah Mountain Stars 17U Gold)
Mitchell is a playmaker. Unlike many guards who are score first guards and constantly missing reads, Mitchell does a good job of pulling help side and making the right kick outs. Further, he is far from a true point guard. He is more than capable of creating shots for himself. He puts a lot of pressure on opposing guards.
Drake Allen 6’4 PG 2019 Westlake (Utah Mountain Stars 17U Gold)
Allen was one of the top unsigned seniors at the event. He scored it consistently well this past weekend why also showing that he can find his teammates. He is a lengthy point guard with plenty of upside. It will be interesting to see where he ends up because he has quite a bit of potential.
