Senior leadership is always important to have on a team but they need for players that can step in and take over that are younger is just as important. Colleges should be keeping a close eye on the young men on this list as we feel that are poised to have a breakout season sooner than later.
Scotland Christian Guard Brodie Clark: He got the opportunity this AAU season to play with Team Wall-SE and would eventually play up in the 17U division. His ability to knock down the trey ball was on full display and we clearly saw his ability to score last high school season as he put up some monster numbers.
Pinecrest HS Guard Bradlee Haskell: He spent his summer playing with the Sandhills Warriors 15U squad as they had a successful season competing in the national tournament. We saw some big time games from Bradlee during his sophomore season at Pinecrest and we expect him to only be better this year as his role will most likely be even larger.
Liberty Christian & 910 Vengeance Guard Daymon Beckwith: He was dominant during his high school season last year and followed that up with an impressive showing at the ENC Fab 40 Camp. Beckwith took the court with 910 Vengeance playing with 17U and had some solid showings being the youngest player on the court at certain times. We are expecting another big time high school season from Beckwith and college coaches should be keeping a very close eye on him.
West Columbus Forward Brandis Kelly: We got our chance to see him during the state playoffs last season vs East Carteret where he put together a dominant playoff performance. A multi-sport athlete that has already picked up D1 football offers, you can see the toughness from the football field translating over to the court.
Farmville Central Forward Leontaye Moye: Farmville returns its stellar backcourt of: Justin Wright, Samage Teel and Terquavion Smith but lost Forward Dyquavis Wilkins to graduation. Well this is where Leontaye will get his opportunity to step up and step in as the squad will need some consistent production from him. He showed some flashes last season and we fully expect him to show all of what he can do this season, so D1 programs that come to see Wright should keep an eye on him as well.
Independence & DTA Elite Forward Omarion Bodrick: The 6’7 prospect has plenty of the tools that college coaches have to be intrigued with and used the opportunity this AAU season to show what he could do. Running the floor, blocking shots, finishing above the rim, and even showing some ability to knock down jumpers were all things that he was able to show he could do. If he can put together consistent performances throughout next season, he should see his stock rise.
